The Skill of Canvas Art Painting

Have ever heard about Van Gogh whose single painting price reached tens of million dollars? Yes, we knew him surely. That’s a painter with strong appeal of aesthetic on artworks. The name of Van Gogh is too exceptional to mention due to he is one of the greatest painter ever in the human history. However, we don’t need to mention Van Gogh more to describe how valuable painters are today. Painters have a comparative sense of aesthetics and put them down on canvas art to create new artworks. The price of every single canvas art painting is affluent accordingly.

Additionally, the need for aesthetic artworks will be always there along with the existence of humans on this planet. Such demand of pleasing appearance is something given to each individual in line with other multi dimensions of being. In this regard, artists as the art workers will be always needed by people to create new aesthetic paintings and artworks. That’s why canvas art painting has been a respected skill as well as one of the most considerable occupations in the world up until now.

Is painting skill given?

There is one big question to the gift of great painters. It seems that every brushed lines and painting inks on canvas art deserve a top appreciation of people with a hundred of dollars for each. Their hands and sense of colouring are likely to be unordinary. Are their skills in painting on some canvas art are given? Can anybody learn how to be a great painter like what well-known names in the genre painting history?

The answers on such questions vary in accordance to individual perspectives and point of view over the existence of being and psychological aspects. Some proponents of Nativism who believed that human is born with given skills and attitude will say that great painters were given. With or without learning process, they would be great in their artwork. Other people accordingly cannot copy the way those leading painters did no matter what.

Unlike Nativism, Behaviourism agued that human can always learn what he and she want to be in the future. According to this perspective, the nature of skills is just like a blank paper whereby everybody can draw and paint individual interest in life. In line with this argument, painting skill can be learned by anybody. Since the environment as stated by Behaviourist proponent affects much the individual growth of human skills and knowledge, education institutions would be likely the place for those who want to learn painting art.

Between Efforts and a Gift

Regarding the debate between Nativism and Behaviourism on whether painting skill could be learned or not, recent development of psychology studies has shown that each argument takes a relative extent of relevance. Individuals have sort of talents that somewhat differ from each other. Individuals with strong conceptual abstract thinking model find technical things difficult to carry out. Just like a kinesics type person who will find lots of hardness to create painting on canvas art using oils and brushes. However, the given talent of painting would not flourish as much as expected without continuous practice and exercise. Van Gogh started learning how to paint on canvas art since he was still very green. Aside from the sound gift of aesthetic sense, he did hard his artworks for years. Van Gogh was so undervalued when he lived in 19th century with a hundred of paintings at that time. It was just in the 20th century, his canvas art paintings got the broad appreciation from the people. People who are interested in learning painting art need to learn from Van Gogh life experience. Even after a series of practices and experiments, new painters might not finally find their artwork commercial and well-appreciated. A gift is a talent itself while practices and experiments are the way to make such talent performed at its best.
